This worked for me to filter the websites via GPO : I have it auto-login on the domain with a generic account. I have done this same thing and did it by GPO. I'm not very knowledgeable with Linux either, so it has to be very easy to setup if I have to go with that. I'd appreciate suggestions on software/systems that can make this as easy as possible. I won't have easy access to the systems to debug them If it goes well, we might end up deploying it to over 100 stores. The store will provide the Internet link, so we cannot filter what website are accessible via the firewall. We haven't decided on the path to take yet:ġ- Computer with just a USB flash drive OS (No Hard drive and OS)Ģ- Computer with Windows but every application except the browser locked up and access to only 1 website I've also found Webconverger ( http:/ / ) and Instant WebKiosk (h ttp:// that I can put on a flash drive, insert into any computer and it will boot to a web browser but I'm running into issues on my test systems with the resolution that is too low and I cannot change it. I also know I can use Deep Freeze to make any changes revert back on the next reboot. In the past I have already locked down Windows XP systems using GPO, but it was hell figuring everything that needed to be disabled and what I could not. I have to find a system/program that can be used in a retail store that will only allow to access 1 website.
